90 years of passion, dedication and love sum up the legacy of the Chan's family. Dr Betty Chan took up the baton from her mother, Madam Tsang Chor-hang, founder of the first Yew Chung School. Together with her husband, Prof Paul Yip, they established the Yew Chung and Yew Wah International Education Schools and expanded into a number of cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Qingdao, Yantai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Rizhao, Tongxiang, Silicon Valley in the US and Somerset in the UK.

The YCYW Founders:
Dr Betty Chan Po-king is the CEO & School Supervisor of Hong Kong Yew Chung Education Foundation.
Dr Chan was made one of the first groups of female life members of Phi Delta Kappa Educational Foundation in 1973, and has been Member of Zonta Club, Kowloon since 1983. Dr Chan was Convenor and Chairperson of "Childhood in 21st Century" international conference sponsored by UNICEF in 1989. In 2004, Dr Chan was the first Chinese to be formally invited to address the Alliance for International Education Conference. In 2006, she founded Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association’s Hong Kong chapter and has served as President ever since. In 2015, Dr Chan was awarded with an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from the University of Bath in recognition of her distinguished career in developing and promoting early childhood education and in international education.
The YCYW Founders:
Prof. Paul Yip Kwok-wah is Board Director of Yew Chung Education Foundation, Chairman of Hong Kong Yew Wah International Education Foundation, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Basic Law Foundation.
Prof. Yip specialises in business management, education and culture. He has a profound understanding of current developments in the Mainland, Taiwan region and Hong Kong SAR. Prof Yip served as Special Advisor to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (1997 to 2002), and Member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Election Conference for the National People’s Congress Delegates. He was also appointed a member of the Economic Relaunch Strategy Group of the HKSAR Government in May, 2003. Prof Yip is the writer of Yip Kwok-wah's Series of Commentaries on China's National Affairs, The Burning China, The Uniqueness of China’s Development Model: 1842-2049 and The China Model: An Alternative Path to Success.
